Neville Joinery is part of the family-run Neville Trust Group of Companies. One of Luton’s oldest businesses, the company was founded in 1875 as T&E Neville by brothers Thomas and Edward, who were local builders, joiners and coffin makers. By 1881, the company had hired its first apprentice carpenter, Arthur Cawdell – a legacy the company continues to this day through its dedication to training and nurturing the next generation of talent.
Over a period of 150 years, Neville Joinery has built an unparalleled reputation for skilled craftsmanship delivered to the highest possible standard. Whether it be installing manufactured items and interior finishing or creating specialist joinery for a range of clients and sectors. For its milestone anniversary year, Neville Joinery is celebrating its illustrious history alongside its sister companies, which have all played a vital role in the growth and development of the local Luton community.

Striving for sustainability
With the focus now more than ever on the importance of sustainability, recycling and reducing carbon emission, Neville Joinery is constantly taking steps to evaluate its environmental burden. It regularly reviews the materials it uses, looking at potential alternatives that will help protect the environment in both the short and the long term.
Across Neville Trust, the team understands that sustainability in product design and manufacturing is incredibly important, which is why it aims to carry out projects without depleting resources or causing harmful and significant impact to the world we live in. The company recently secured the internationally recognised ISO 14001 accreditation for Environmental Management, which demonstrates the proactive measures the company takes to minimise its environmental footprint, comply with legal requirements and achieve sustainability objectives.
With global warming and emissions on the rise, it is vital that all construction firms think of meeting the needs of today without sacrificing the safety and ability for future generations to be able to do the same. As much as it can, Neville Joinery uses sustainable and eco-friendly materials in its manufacturing processes.

FSC certification
Neville Joinery chose to become FSC Chain of Custody certified (FSC®C190258) to further its commitment to sustainable sourcing. The certification gives it accountability for its processes and, as one of the most recognised industry standards in the UK, it was pleased to be able to receive it.
A recent project for a very significant client required a specific design for new concept units, using FSC-certified materials. In this example, Neville Joinery’s client was able to introduce the benefits of new paper-based products used in place of plastic laminates, which meant that these units could eventually be incinerated to generate energy rather than being consigned to landfill.
The ethos across Neville Trust is that it believes in working hard for the future and investing in the world as much as we do our projects and designs. It is proud to be certified to the standards set by the Forest Stewardship Council.

Supporting communities
As Neville Trust celebrates its 150th anniversary year this year, its commitment to community impact remains stronger than ever. At both a national and local level, it strives to make a meaningful difference through dedicated support, charitable initiatives, and pioneering services that bring comfort and connection to those in need.
This year, it is proudly supporting four key charities, ensuring that essential funds and resources reach those who need them most. Its contributions extend beyond financial support, as it actively engages in fundraising, awareness campaigns and volunteer initiatives to maximise its impact. Amongst other commitments team members from Neville Joinery will volunteer to complete small works projects for free for organisations, schools, and public services across its communities in Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire.
In honour of its milestone anniversary, the 150 Days of Staff Volunteering Programme launched, which empowers the team to dedicate their time and skills to causes close to their hearts, further embedding Neville Trust in the fabric of our local communities.
From environmental projects to social welfare programmes, our employees will be on the ground, making a tangible difference. Neville Joinery’s – and that of the Trust – legacy is built on service, care, and unwavering community support.
